At the forefront of balloon fashion in the Tampa Bay area are the balloon artists at Winking Derby and our amazing balloon outfits. Great for parties, art charity events, galas and fundraisers. Balloon fashion and balloon dresses aren’t just for the ladies either – balloon outfits can be created for costume parties or Halloween events.

Our balloon artists twist light hearted, entertaining, interesting and inspiring balloon dresses for art shoes, designers or charities. A single balloon dress can take anywhere from three to twenty hours to twist from hand. Winking Derby offers numerous balloon artists for hire not just for dresses, but for balloon arches, columns, decorations or even magicians.

Designs can range from truly elegant evening wear to the daring and exciting club fashion. Our balloon artists have been featured all over the world providing culturally versatile and unique balloon dresses. As with culinary creations, balloon dresses are momentary and short lived – the product of a truly skilled balloon artist.

Not only are balloon dresses great fashion and art pieces, but Winking Derby has used them for fundraising purposes as well. Our branding Pop Promotion offers guests an opportunity to pop balloons on the dress in exchange for donations to various causes. Winking Derby has used our Pop Promotion to raise over $3,500 in a single event!

Dunedin Wearable Art

Winking Derby’s Mark Byrne has been a seven time participant in the Dunedin annual Wearable Art show.

Every year Dunedin Fine Arts Center offers and challenges emerging Tampa Bay artists to create exhibits designed with the theme Wearable Art. Cotton, silk, wool or even cashmere are simply natural products used for the production of clothing. Why not use balloons? Balloons come from latex rubber, which is the sap of the Ficus Elastica (rubber tree plant) an equally natural product. Our professional balloon artists seek to inspire, manipulating balloon as if they were fabric, weaving them together with out rupturing.

During the reception period, Mark was busy entertaining guests in the lobby area, providing humor, sleight of hand magic. After the banquet began, Mark was the emcee, between speeches and events, providing a lighthearted connection between speakers and our awards for performances. His demeanor was one of professionalism and decorum, with a few lighthearted stories but, never banal.
